About Brian

Brian PerrY: in his own words…

I was raised by a teacher. This means that my entire life I was taught the value of education and I learned that knowledge is power.  I understand that a good education can change lives.  I carried this love of learning with me during my 13 years in the Hilliard City School District, earning my honors diploma from Hilliard Darby High School in 2011.  It was my time in Hilliard that prepared me for future academic and personal successes.

After graduating high school, I attended Capital University and graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in political science.  I decided to stay at Capital for another three years to complete law school, earning my J.D. with a concentration in labor & employment law in 2018.  I passed the Ohio Bar Exam later that same year. I was able to succeed because of the educational foundation I stood on: my father who taught for 32 years, and my time in the Hilliard City School District.

I understand that a good education can change lives.

Now that I am finished earning degrees and am a fully licensed attorney, I could have chosen to work anywhere in the state, but I chose to remain in the place where I was raised.  I chose to stay in Hilliard.  Hilliard has given me the opportunity to be successful and my deep love of this community has brought me home to give back in a way that is so meaningful to me.  It is with gratitude that I am now serving the community that raised me and I will continue to help my hometown schools realize their full potential, like they helped me realize mine.
